  • Wilmington’s proposed aquatic center at Olsen Farm on Murrayville Road will offer Olympic-sized indoor and outdoor pools — along with a food hall and an inclusive recreational center — to help prevent drowning and boost tourism. Olympic swimmer Kathleen Baker champions the project, which organizers aim to complete by 2028.  WWAY

  • Abby Lee Miller returns to Wilmington for the Coast-to-Coast Dance Convention and Competition at UNCW’s Burney Center from Feb. 7 to Feb. 8. The event offers professional training and live performances for dancers aged 5 and older.  WWAY
  • Wilmington residents enjoy a busy weekend with events starting today at Union Station and across local venues, including a film festival, comedy shows at the Dead Crow Comedy Room, and cultural celebrations slated through Sunday.  Wilmington Star-News

  • Battleship North Carolina is hosting a program titled 'Forgotten Heroes: Remembering North Carolina's Black Patriots of the Revolutionary War' on February 24 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Museum Educator Trevor Freeman will lead a talk (with a Q&A session) highlighting Black North Carolinians' roles in the American Revolution.  WWAY

  • The Boat U.S. Foundation awarded funds to the North Carolina Coastal Federation to remove 12 abandoned boats from waterways in New Hanover and three other counties, with cleanup set to begin soon.
