- ➤ A 90-year-old woman was found alive on Friday evening near Walmart in Monkey Junction after the county sheriff’s K-9 unit followed a scent for nearly one mile; she received prompt medical attention before being brought home. WWAY
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ The Bald Head Island ferry, *The Patriot*, ran aground in the cut at Deep Point Marina on Thursday morning and 105 passengers were evacuated; the Coast Guard is investigating causes including a wrapped steel cable and rough seas while the ferry service has resumed. WWAY
- ➤ A house fire on Hampton Road left one person without a home Sunday evening, with no injuries reported as fire officials investigate the cause (earlier incidents may be linked to arson). WECT
