- ➤ On Feb. 28, the 16th annual Novant Health Wilmington Marathon took place at Live Oak Bank Pavilion and along Nutt Street, where Pablo Martinez-Oliva won the 26.2-mile race in 2:27 while Ann Marie Pierce was the top female finisher. - ➤ The Hoggard girls basketball team defeated Wakefield on Saturday, Feb. 28 at Sheila Boles Gymnasium, with Tristan Shivers scoring 21 points, to advance to the 8A Eastern regional championship.
