- ➤ Strut for Childhood Cancer Race returns this weekend for its 17th year in Wilmington, featuring a 5K, 1-mile fun run, Flamingo Foam Party, bounce houses, and children’s activities at Long Leaf Park; the event will start at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 7 to benefit Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas. - ➤ The locally shot television drama 'RJ Decker' premieres Tuesday at 10 p.m. on ABC. Filming took place in Wilmington (using sound stages and local beaches) and stars Scott Speedman as a former photographer turned private investigator. WWAY
- ➤ Wilco will perform at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater on July 13. Presale tickets open Thursday, March 5 at 10 a.m. for Live Nation All Access members—regular tickets go on sale Friday, March 6. WECT
- ➤ Country singer Charley Crockett will perform on Sept. 21 at Live Oak Bank Pavilion with special guests Durand Jones & The Indications for his Age of the Ram Tour; presale tickets go live March 5 at 10 a.m. and general tickets on March 6 at 10 a.m. FOX Wilmington
- ➤ The 17th annual Big Bloomin’ Orchid Day is set for Saturday, Mar. 14 at St. John’s Episcopal Church and will feature breakfast, rare orchids, carnivorous plants for sale, a cash-only raffle, and expert talks. Tickets cost ($20 in advance) and ($25 at the door). WECT
- ➤ Kure Beach will host a marker unveiling ceremony to honor the German U-Boat attack on the Ethyl-Dow plant in July 1943 as part of an America 250 World War II Wilmington activity, scheduled for Thursday, March 12 at 5:00 p.m. at the Ocean Front Park on Atlantic Avenue. WECT

- ➤ Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation and ECE donated $5,000 to support scholarships for lineworker training programs at Brunswick Community College and Southeastern Community College. The funds will help cover tuition, equipment, and training for students pursuing careers in the electric utility industry. WWAY
LIFESTYLE NEWS
- ➤ The NC Division of Marine Fisheries will run a two-week Gulf flounder season from March 9 to 22 in ocean waters south of Ocracoke Inlet, and anglers may catch one fish per person per day if it is at least 15 inches long. Fishing from piers and beaches is allowed. Wilmington Star-News
