  • Greenfield Lake Boat House reopened this week at Wilmington’s Greenfield Lake Park, offering kayak and paddleboat rentals despite a brief opening on Thursday due to windy conditions. Staff resumed eco-tours and rentals Friday at 11 a.m. with services available through Sunday.  WHQR
  • On Saturday, Corporal Dominic Davila (a Marine veteran who lost his right foot in Afghanistan) was honored at Winter Park Baptist Church by Homes for Our Troops as he prepares to move into a specially adapted forever home; construction will begin soon.  WWAY
  • BCC has moved its free job fair, which will welcome over 50 employers from Brunswick County and nearby areas, to a new location (details coming soon).  WECT

CULTURE NEWS

  • Downtown Wilmington hosted its 25th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade today, where hundreds in green lined Front Street to see pirates, roller skaters (including WWAY’s Matt Bennett) and festive displays celebrating Irish tradition.  WWAY

  • After an exciting season for local high school girls basketball, StarNews has released a poll featuring 24 nominees from 12 schools for player of the year. Voting remains open until Thursday, Mar. 26 at 11:59 p.m.  Wilmington Star-News
