- ➤ A routine traffic stop escalated into a police chase in downtown Wilmington over the weekend, ending in a crash where a Mercury Grand Marquis hit three parked cars — officers arrested 27-year-old Joshua Taylor from Fayetteville on charges including possession of a stolen gun, hit-and-run, and resisting arrest. - ➤ On March 15 around 12:49 a.m., Wilmington Police arrested 27-year-old Joshua Taylor after he fled a traffic stop for a fake license plate and concealed gun during a chase—citizen tips later led officers to his crash near Orange Street and South 2nd Street, and Taylor now faces charges including possessing a stolen gun, hit and run, having a fictitious tag, and resisting arrest while held on a $20,000 bond. - ➤ New Hanover County officials said fire station 13 in Castle Hayne was safe for firefighters as the CDC began a federal review of the facility—an investigation that follows concerns over mold and PFAS contamination.
