  • Today, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern NC is hosting its 2026 Youth of the Year Competition at 6:30 p.m. at Live Oak Bank, where one club member will be honored for leadership and community service.  WWAY

  • Fitz’s Biscuits — a food truck launched by cousins Jesse Canady and Josh Hinson over the weekend at Brewer’s Kettle — serves breakfast biscuits inspired by family tradition and plans mobile stops at local breweries and markets.  Port City Daily

CULTURE NEWS

  • This weekend, FEAST Wilmington returns to Riverfront Park (Live Oak Bank Pavilion) with three events planned: a beer and food pairing event Saturday at 11 a.m., a Pier Party with drinks and live music Saturday at 6 p.m., and brunch on Sunday at noon.   • Rising country music artist Noah Rinker will open for Dustin Lynch during the Main Stage Concert Series at the North Carolina Azalea Festival on Friday, Apr. 10 at the Live Oak Bank Pavilion in Wilmington.  WWAY
  • The Battleship North Carolina Memorial launched the Battleship Plate Project to secure 500 paid pre-orders for a new specialty license plate, celebrating its 65th Berth-Day year. Pre-orders support preservation, educational programming + public access at the historic site.  FOX Wilmington
  • The Wilson Center will host two summer concerts featuring Graham Nash on Aug. 1 at 7:30 p.m. and the Pixies on Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. Member tickets start today (10 a.m. for Nash, noon for the Pixies) and public sales begin Friday, March 27 at 10 a.m.  FOX Wilmington
  • The City of Wilmington is set to host a Community Painting Day on April 11 from noon to 4 p.m. at the MLK Community Center for residents of all ages to repaint recycled buoys into public art (participants should reserve a time slot as space is limited).  WWAY

  • Yesterday, dense drift smoke from two fires in neighboring Onslow County was seen over eastern Pender County — no wildfires were active locally — and fire crews are monitoring conditions.  Wilmington Star-News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Cape Fear Public Utility Authority will issue a boil-water advisory from 9 p.m. Thursday, March 26 for about 125 customers on Parmele Boulevard, North Lumina Avenue, Heron Street, Sandpiper Street, Crane Street, and Mallard Street as crews replace broken valves and may cause brief water pressure loss.  FOX Wilmington

HEALTH NEWS

  • Beat It 5K is planned for May 9 at The Pointe at Barclay on Stonecrop Drive. Organized by Beat Parkinson’s Today + Brunches, the event offers a timed 5K and one mile walk to support local Parkinson’s programs, with registration at 7 a.m. and awards at 9 a.m.  WWAY

  • UNCW has extended men's basketball coach Takayo Siddle's contract through April 14, 2031, with his new five-year deal boosting his pay to $1 million (a $150,000 raise) pending board approval after his agreement on March 8.  FOX Wilmington
