- ➤ A couple hundred people, including elected officials and arts supporters, attended a fundraiser Monday evening at Thalian Hall to launch a $25M campaign to renovate the historic theater. - ➤ NC State researcher Jeffrey Enders found dangerous levels of PFOS in sea foam from local beaches — the highest reading of 800,000 ng/L was measured near Sea Breeze at Carolina Beach. - ➤ The North Carolina Coastal Federation announced it will begin building an observation platform at Carolina Beach State Park — a project to restore wetland habitats, estuarine shorelines, and oyster reefs.
