- ➤ A local restaurateur doubled his dining and kitchen space while Rx Chicken & Oysters on Castle Street received an award for sustainable innovation, and Chef Austen Schindler is planning a dinner series that highlights local food purveyors—with other eateries launching new dining events in Wilmington. - ➤ The Arts Council of Wilmington and New Hanover County held the 2026 Wilmington Theater Awards on March 25, honoring local talent as Opera House Theatre Company won eight awards for 'Cabaret' and Terry Collins received the Lela Thompson Award. - ➤ Warbirds Over Wilmington will be held from April 10 to April 12 at the Wilmington International Airport south ramp and will feature a WWII Japanese A6M Zero replica fly-by on April 11 and 12, plus other historic aircraft and food trucks as free admission and parking are offered. - ➤ The Endowment announced more than $5.17M in grants to boost workforce development in the county, funding youth career academies, apprenticeship programs and construction skills training at the Greater Wilmington Chamber Foundation and Cape Fear Community College Foundation as well as a collaborative project, promising better pathways to local jobs.
