- ➤ Tickets for the 72nd Azalea Garden Tour will cost $50 each, with children under 12 free with a paying adult. UNCW’s Kenan House (1705 Market St.) will host a ribbon-cutting and Queen’s Garden Party at 9:30 a.m. on April 4, and the self-guided tour will run through April 6 featuring 10 gardens and a benefit art sale to support local nonprofits. - ➤ After Monday's rain reduced pollen, the National Weather Service forecasts that the 78th Azalea Festival will start with cool temperatures in the low 70s on Wednesday, may see rain on Thursday during the Justin Moore concert, clear skies and mid-80s on Friday and Saturday, and finish with overcast, windy conditions and highs near 80 on Sunday—bringing a mix of weather to the festival. - ➤ Carolina Beach Elementary School will unveil Sea Star Seascape, an ocean-themed mural covering a 930-square-foot corridor at the Clarendon Avenue entrance next week at 1 p.m. The project was led by local artist Lauren Stumberg and art teacher Melony Connor with students from each grade contributing designs of the ocean ecosystem. - ➤ Today, Carolina Beach has updated pet rules at the beach and dogs are allowed before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m. from (April 1 through Sept. 30) if they are leashed and owners carry a plastic or paper container for cleanup. Dogs are banned from the historical wooden boardwalk and nearby public areas, and violations will incur a $100 fine (for rule enforcement). WECT
