  • Greenfield Grind Skatepark will be renamed for pro skater Alec Chambers after the Naming and Facilities Committee unanimously approved the change on March 23. The new name honors his legacy after his tragic death last December.  WHQR
  • The Carolina Beach Inlet Association is hosting its 10th annual Chowder Cook Off this Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Good Hops Brewing to raise funds for keeping the inlet open; attendees may taste different chowders, enjoy live music, join 50/50 drawings, and bid on auction items.  FOX Wilmington
  • The New Hanover County Arboretum and North Carolina Cooperative Extension will host a four-day Master Gardener Plant Sale featuring 8,000 native varieties—annuals, perennials, herbs, and Japanese maples—from Thursday, April 16 to Sunday, April 19.   • The North Carolina Azalea Festival is held this week from April 8 to April 12 + featuring events at local venues that highlight music, art, and community spirit.  WECT
  • Buffalo Traffic Jam will perform at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater on Saturday, July 18 at 7 p.m.—tickets go on sale today at 10 a.m. as part of the REV Rocks Concert Series powered by REV Federal Credit Union.  WECT
  • The Fuzzy Needle will host NYC author Laurie Gwen Shapiro for a book reading and discussion tonight at 6:30 p.m. — live music by local artist Julia Rothenberger will follow as the $10 admission funds Cape Fear Literacy Council.  WWAY
  • Busy Bloom Co. is hosting its first-ever Fleur Couture floral fashion show on Friday, April 17 at Azalea Station in Wilmington's Cargo District; local designers will transform fresh flowers into wearable pieces during the event.  WECT
