EDUCATION NEWS

  • On Saturday morning, 100 Black Men of Coastal North Carolina held a scholarship brunch where they helped present scholarships to local youth.  WECT

  • At Friday's New Hanover County school board meeting, the board voted 5-2 to censure member Tim Merrick for overstepping his role when he addressed a teacher's concern over a classroom display policy—his actions sparked loud protests and led him to apologize and promise to follow board rules more carefully.  Port City Daily

  • The Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders Association will host its 39th annual Parade of Homes over two weekends—April 26-27 and May 3-4—from noon to 5 p.m. The free, self-guided tour will showcase more than 80 homes in New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties + include interactive features like 3D virtual tours and detailed home plans.  Wilmington Star-News
