- ➤ Wilmington police are searching for 15-year-old Katelyn Nicole Roach who is 5-foot-4, weighs about 105 pounds and has brown/black hair and blue eyes; she was last seen on the 3900 block of Carolina Beach Road on April 13 wearing a black hoodie, black sweatpants and Nike shoes—anyone with information is asked to call 910-343-3609. - ➤ After five months in rehabilitation at the New England Aquarium, 31 cold stunned Kemp’s Ridley sea turtles — aged 3 to 5 — were released Monday morning into the ocean at Fort Fisher. - ➤ Yesterday, environmental groups and UNCW professors spoke at a town hall at Lumina Theater in Castle Hayne, warning that plans to build 4,000 housing units on forest land could lead to flooding, traffic, water quality, and wildlife issues—critics said the project would strain local infrastructure.
