- ➤ Several firefighting crews are battling a wildfire that has burned over 400 acres in Pender County — the blaze started from a controlled burn that got out of control because of windy conditions. WECT
- ➤ Fire crews are battling a 100-acre wildfire in Rocky Point and are urging residents along Ashton Road at Ashton Crossroads and McCrary Roads to evacuate. A WECT crew reported planes spraying water on the blaze and the NC Forest Service—Burgaw Fire Department, Rocky Point Volunteer Fire Department, and Pender County Emergency Management are working to contain it. - ➤ Fire crews confirmed that residents on Ashton Road and McCrary Road in Rocky Point can safely return home — several crews are battling a 450-acre wildfire that is 95% contained while aircraft spray water on the blaze. FOX Wilmington
