- ➤ Save Sledge Forest held a town hall at UNCW on April 13 to oppose the Hilton Bluffs development as its phase one grew to 647 residential lots. The group hired attorney Susan Keelin to look into legal options while county officials review the revised plan and the petition nears 10,000 signatures. Port City Daily

- ➤ A Castle Hayne man named Jason Brannan, 37, faces 29 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor from offenses spanning June 2019 through June 2024 and was arrested in January, and he is now held on a $3.1M secured bond (according to the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office). WECT
- ➤ A local man from Castle Haye, 37-year-old Jason Thomas Brannan, was charged with 29 counts of sex crimes with minors, including statutory offenses from June 2019 and additional counts this week, and he received a multi-million-dollar bond (the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is investigating seized material from his home). - ➤ Antonio Mitchell, a 46-year-old from Burgaw, was arrested on April 22 after fleeing a traffic stop near 23rd Street and Brandon Road and crashing into another car on Market Street and Covil Avenue—police recovered a stolen handgun and charged him with multiple felonies. WECT
