  • The Children’s Museum of Wilmington will host its 15th Annual Fore the Children Golf Tournament Monday, May 11 at Cape Fear Country Club, and the event is already sold out due to strong community support. The fundraiser aims to benefit the museum’s programs.  WWAY

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Shake Shack opened its restaurant off Military Cutoff Road on Wednesday, April 22, with a fundraiser supporting the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC—each sandwich sold donated $1. The store is in front of Total Wine and More in a 3,000 sqft building boasting outdoor seating.  Port City Daily

CULTURE NEWS

  • Thalian Hall and Cameron Art Museum will unveil a working replica of an 1858 stage curtain on Saturday, April 25 during Annual Community Day + the replica reproduces scenic artist William Russell Smith's original design on the main stage.  WWAY
  • The Wilmington Symphony Orchestra launches its 2026 — 27 classic series in September with a concert called 'Three Generations of American Music' on Sept. 26 and will feature works by Beethoven, Brahms and Schumann until May.   • Driver's Ed, a comedy filmed in Wilmington, releases in theaters and on demand May 15. The film — directed by Bobby Farrelly and produced by local couple Jonas and Jennifer Pate — features local landmarks like UNCW and Paul’s Place along with big-name actors.  Wilmington Star-News

  • CFCC will launch its free Adult High School program at North Campus starting in July 2026 to help adults earn a diploma through nine-week sessions + flexible in-person or online classes available for those balancing work and other commitments.  WWAY
