- ➤ Grammy Award–nominated singer Chris Isaak of Silvertone will perform live at the Wilson Center on August 8 at 7:30 p.m.—tickets for members are available today at 10 a.m. and will go on sale to the public on May 2 at 10 a.m. WECT
- ➤ Chris Isaak will perform at Cape Fear Community College on Friday, August 8 at 7:30 p.m. — tickets go on sale today at 10 a.m., and he is returning to Wilmington seven years after his previous visit at the Wilson Center. Port City Daily

- ➤ Cape Fear Community College will hold its spring commencement on May 9 at Wilson Center at 9 a.m.—over 1,300 graduates will earn credentials and NFL veteran Connor Barth will speak. The ceremony is not open to the public and requires tickets. WECT
- ➤ Cape Fear Community College kicked off its free HelloArts! Festival at the Wilson Center on Monday — student performances from music and art departments marked the start of the two-day celebration. - ➤ Proposed budget cuts to NOAA may force the shutdown of a buoy program managed by UNCW that uses nine offshore buoys off southeastern NC and two coastal stations on Masonboro Island to share real-time weather data. Local fishermen and officials warn that losing these buoys could create a dangerous blind spot for storm forecasts and rescue efforts—raising serious coastal safety concerns. Wilmington Star-News
- ➤ A survey conducted from March 21 to April 4 found that most Wilmington police officers are unhappy with the department, with over 90% saying they would not recommend it as a good place to work.
