  • The Town of Leland will host its In Bloom Festival on Saturday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to noon at the newly renovated Founders Park, featuring food trucks, live music, dance lessons, hands-on activities, and local vendors to celebrate spring.  WECT

  • Wilmington’s concert calendar in May is packed with events from touring acts and local artists across venues like Bowstring Burgers and Brewyard and Greenfield Lake Amphitheater. EDUCATION NEWS

  • nCino is partnering with the Cape Fear Community College Foundation to offer the Curious Minds, Bold Ideas Scholarship to up to ten CFCC students studying business, technology and related fields; each will receive an award of $1,000 (applicants must maintain a 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need).  WECT
  • Cape Fear Community College will host FAFSA completion events throughout May and early June at campus locations to help students complete forms for financial aid. College staff will guide participants and answer questions (students and parents must create separate FSA IDs 72 hours in advance).  WWAY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Attorney General Jeff Jackson said Thursday that Mylan will pay North Carolina $11 million to settle claims of inflated EpiPen prices through anticompetitive practices, with $8.4 million allocated to the State Health Plan and Medicaid.  FOX Wilmington
