- ➤ Nearly 60 cyclists stopped at the Wilmington Police Department (WPD) on Tuesday, May 5 to honor fallen officers by reading names on the Memorial Wall; they began their ride in Little River and planned to reach Jacksonville by evening. FOX Wilmington
- ➤ Local law enforcement officers will trade badges for running shoes on May 21 at the UNC Wilmington campus amphitheater to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics athletes (registration starts at 9 a.m., and participants can complete a one-mile loop multiple times between 10 a.m. and noon). - ➤ The Landfall Foundation hosted its 2026 gala Friday in Wilmington — raising over $460,000 for local nonprofits and schools. The Cinco de Mayo celebration featured live music and entertainment to support projects in health, education and the arts. WWAY

- ➤ Acme Art Studios, a notable art center in downtown, was listed for $4.4 million on May 5 with a one-acre complex including a 12,000 sqft warehouse + four vacant lots.
