- ➤ Two Leland residents, Tyler Collins and Austin Ziglar, were charged with first degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon after 63-year-old Cedric Adkins was found dead in a Wilmington wooded area on May 2, and they appeared in court on May 6 before Judge Richard Russell Davis and are held without bond. - ➤ Late Monday night, Wilmington police arrested 24-year-old Isaac Guy Debrosse near South College Road for a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian collision—he faces felony hit and run charges for causing serious injury or death and is held on a $50,000 secured bond. WWAY

- ➤ Officials with the N.C. Forest Service said that as of May 6 the wildfire in Boiling Spring Lakes covered 1,331 acres and was 15% contained. Crews used drone infrared tech (to spot remaining heat) to reinforce fire lines, and today's warm, dry weather will likely boost fire activity in areas with abundant heat. WECT

- ➤ A large agrochemical company helped add a part to the North Carolina Farm Act that would let pesticide makers skip extra warnings if their products carry EPA and state board approval—Sen.
