- ➤ Wilmington police arrested Marissa Reynolds, aged 31, after a traffic stop on Racine Drive as the fourth suspect in the May 2 homicide of Cedric Adkins, aged 63—she now faces charges of murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, drug possession and failure to appear while being held without bond in county jail. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ An April study by RTI International found that every beer tested, including samples from North Carolina, contained PFAS—forever chemicals that come from water contamination. The study showed beers brewed near high PFAS sources like the Cape Fear River had higher levels and urged breweries and water utilities to work together to reduce the risk. WECT
