  • Carolina Beach hosted a mini golf tournament Sunday at the Putter Pub on Winner Avenue to thank the Ocean Rescue team after it conducted 381 rescues last season — business owner Ryan O’Rourke and council member Joe Benson organized 36 two-person teams to raise funds for local lifeguards and plan to hold the event again.  WWAY
  • Wilmington will soon gain five new entertainment spaces—Dave & Buster's will open May 26 at Mayfaire Town Center while plans move forward for a family center with bowling and arcade games, an upgraded club with indoor and outdoor pickleball, a nonprofit sports and cultural complex called Optimism Oasis, and a mixed-use recreation village set for 2028 near Olsen Farms.  Wilmington Star-News
