- ➤ Founded in 1726, the Brunswick Town and Fort Anderson State Historic Site offers a 30-minute walk past mounds along Cape Fear — plaques and items share colonial, Civil War, and living history, and workers are inspecting St. Philip’s Church Graveyard into May to protect old graves. - ➤ UNC Wilmington is moving forward with plans to launch the state’s first new public medical school after the UNC Board of Governors approved the proposal on May 21.
