- ➤ Wilmington International Airport is bustling as travelers fly in and out for the Memorial Day holiday weekend. AAA expects more than 3.5 million people to fly this weekend—officials advise arriving an hour early to clear security without long delays. WWAY
- ➤ Lifeguards are back on duty at Wrightsville Beach ahead of Memorial Day weekend while the department will station 40—45 guards at various access points through Labor Day. They work from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and use flag signals to guide swimmers based on current water conditions. WWAY
- ➤ A Veterans Appreciation resource and hiring event will be held on May 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the National Guard Armory on Carolina Beach Road, where veterans, transitioning service members and civilians will connect with local, statewide and national employers in fields such as project management, human resources, transportation, logistics, healthcare and government.
