- ➤ The Wilson Center at Cape Fear Community College will host Tower of Power and the Robert Cray Band this fall — Tower of Power will perform on September 10 at 7 p.m. and Robert Cray on September 18 at 7 p.m. Tickets will be available online to Wilson Center members today at 10 a.m. and go on sale to the public on June 13 at 10 a.m. Port City Daily

- ➤ The City of Wilmington will host free mulch giveaways on the last Friday of each month after a strong response to a recent event — the next giveaway will be on June 27 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Legion Stadium’s overflow lot where residents must hand-load the mulch and commercial vehicles are not allowed. Limited stump grindings will be available. WWAY
- ➤ Pender County Emergency Management and Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry have been awarded $25,000 grants from Duke Energy to boost local storm preparedness. Pender County Emergency Management will use $7,500 to purchase emergency communications equipment—helping officials improve response after Tropical Storm Helene in fall 2024 disrupted services. WECT
- ➤ The House passed the Maritime Supply Chain Security Act that will secure our ports and reduce foreign technology use, including replacing Chinese-made container cranes at Wilmington's port.
