  • The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jonathan Durham on May 30 after a citizen turned in a USB drive found in Olsen Park—detectives used its metadata to charge him with two counts of 2nd degree sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts of 3rd degree sexual exploitation of a minor.  WWAY
  • On Wednesday morning, law enforcement was at the Prince Mini Mart on Princess Place Drive in Wilmington—one man was detained in handcuffs as officials awaited further details from the police department.  FOX Wilmington

CULTURE NEWS

  • Harbor Entertainment Group announced the Coast 2 Coast Summer Tour will come to Wilmington next week at The Pier at Port City Marina. Reggae artists The Movement and Tribal Seeds (featuring Mike Love) will perform on Tuesday, June 24 at 5 p.m. with kids 10 and under admitted free.  WECT

  • Topsail High School has been named the 2024-2025 recipient of the Exemplary School Award by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association — the honor comes with a trophy, banner, and $1,000 cash award, and Principal Dr. Michael Sasscer said it recognizes the Pirates for having the top overall athletic program in the state.  WWAY
