- ➤ The National Weather Service issued an extreme heat warning for Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, New Hanover, and Pender counties, effective today from 11 a.m. to Sunday at 8 p.m.—residents should drink water and watch for heat stroke signs. FOX Wilmington
- ➤ NCDEQ Secretary Reid Wilson toured Wilmington’s Sweeney Water Treatment Plant on Friday to inspect new granular activated carbon filters (GAC) that remove PFAS from the Cape Fear River after decades of toxic dumping.
