- ➤ Season 18 of The Great Food Truck Race filmed in Wilmington with local chef Lauren Krall Ivey guest judging at spots like Wilmington Brewing Company— the episode will debut on Food Network on Aug. 3 at 9 p.m. with a Wilmington-specific segment airing on Aug. 17 at 10 p.m. Wilmington Star-News
- ➤ The Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington announced it will open a new exhibit called Cameron Art Museum: The Collection that re-installs its permanent collection featuring over 60 works by local, national, and international artists—landscapes, prints, and new acquisitions. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Students in Wilmington will go back to school with traditional schools in New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender counties starting on Aug. 25 or Aug. 26 while early college and year-round schools begin from Aug. 5 to Aug. 14. Open houses and staggered enrollments are planned throughout August—providing varying start dates for the 2025 to 2026 school year. Wilmington Star-News

- ➤ New Hanover County's parking deck at 212 North 2nd Street will close on Aug. 4 for structural repairs and is expected to reopen mid-September — alternative parking arrangements have been provided for monthly pass holders, jury duty callers and hotel users. WECT

- ➤ A free dental clinic that closed last year will reopen tomorrow near 16th and Martin Streets after receiving a $695,000 grant. Clinic Director Laura Vinson said she improved the building—painting walls and hanging curtains—to make it a welcoming place for free dental care Monday through Saturday. WECT

- ➤ UNCW Women’s Soccer is preparing for a bounce-back season as Head Coach Chris Neal and new transfer players build team chemistry after years of struggles.
