- ➤ A trailer for the Wilmington-shot series The Runarounds was released on Aug. 7 and the show will debut on Amazon Prime Video on Sept. 1. Jonas Pate, a local creator whose daughter stars in the series, filmed scenes at familiar spots — Old Wilmington City Market, the Riverwalk and more — marking another homegrown production on the streaming service. - ➤ Cucalorus Film Festival is adding a new two-day Film Conference from Nov. 19-23 that will offer workshops and sessions on independent filmmaking. - ➤ New Hanover County expanded early voting options for the municipal election—adding three additional sites after public outcry over limited locations. The Northeast Regional Library will open on October 16 while the Senior Resource Center, Carolina Beach Town Hall and the McLeod Building at Cape Fear Community College will open on October 25 with all sites operating during the same hours until early voting ends on November 1.
