  • Avelo Airlines announced two new routes at ILM today—Punta Cana, Dominican Republic as the airport’s first international route, and West Palm Beach, Florida—with service beginning on Nov. 20 and Dec. 24 using Boeing Next-Generation 737s on a twice weekly schedule. Local protests over Avelo’s contract with ICE have drawn demonstrators calling for an end to the partnership.  Port City Daily

  • The Opera House Theater Company is ending its summer season with a twist on Oklahoma! — Andi Creech and Jason Aycock spoke in the studio about the new production that began August 14 and runs through 24.  WECT
  • Drive By Truckers performed on the Greenfield Lake stage on Sunday and played songs from almost all their albums — the Athens-based band was supported by Deer Tick and Thelma and the Sleaze.  Port City Daily

  • On August 14th, Novant Health lactation coordinator Heather Renye appeared in a studio interview to explain the support and resources available for breastfeeding mothers during National Breastfeeding Awareness Month (August) and noted that breastfeeding can be challenging despite being natural.  WECT
