- ➤ After early Friday calls following a domestic dispute, Wilmington police arrested 35 years old suspect Hykeem Gaymon who barricaded himself in his sister's apartment at Kerr Crossing Apartments — no injuries were reported and active warrants were in place. Port City Daily
- ➤ Kat Divijata said she experienced a dangerous road rage incident on Aug. 7 when a driver swerved into her lane on Oleander Drive and followed her down South College Road—he tried to sideswipe, spit, throw objects, and punched her window as she called 911, which led police to advise staying in safe, populated areas if similar events occur. - ➤ North Carolina Attorney General Jeff Jackson joined 37 other attorneys general urging Instagram to change its map feature that shows exact user locations—he said the feature puts children and victims at risk. WECT
- ➤ New Hanover County officials reviewed debt projections and bond scenarios ranging from a $137 million renovation to a $500 million bond covering several projects—some options would push the county past its per-capita debt cap and might lead to tax rate changes.
