- ➤ The new Prime Video series The Runarounds, created by Jonas Pate from the makers of Outer Banks, is set and filmed in Wilmington—featuring local youth who play real music and learn acting skills. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ County commissioners on Thursday reversed earlier budget cuts by approving $1.4 million in supplemental funding—restoring full-time nurse positions at every school after parents and board members raised concerns over student safety. The funding comes from the Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Fund and follows public outcry over the initial cuts. Port City Daily
- ➤ WAVE Transit will offer free rides for voters during early voting and on Election Day on Oct. 25, Oct. 26, Nov. 1, and Nov. 4—Wilmington City Councilmember Salette Andrews said the Cape Fear Public Transportation Authority approved the plan on Aug. 29. FOX Wilmington
