ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A bicyclist crashed on E Yacht Drive near NE 63rd Street when a fishing line from a tree snagged him, causing him to lose consciousness and sustain several injuries — Oak Island Fire aided him before EMS transported him to Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center. WECT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Wilmington Councilmember Salette Andrews said the city will soon develop a proposal to fund a new homelessness strategy after New Hanover County cut its funding and stepped away from their joint plan—leaving the city to gather data on the need for emergency, transitional and permanent housing beds along with supportive services. The proposal may require hiring a consultant and comes as local providers and the mayor urge a shared funding approach to address the growing cost of homelessness. Port City Daily

- ➤ Carolina in the Morning anchor Kim Ratcliff is home and recovering after her surgery at Duke University Hospital to remove a cancerous nodule from her left lung (doctors also removed some lymph nodes to check for further cancer) and she thanked everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
