- ➤ Moores Creek National Battlefield will host the free 'Christmas Comes to Currie' event on Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring 18th-century programs such as cooking, toy games, candle making, and colonial music + a Santa meet-and-greet from 1 to 3 p.m. WECT

- ➤ Local restaurant owners say proposed blue crab harvest limits, which would lower commercial catches from 50 to 15 bushels per trip, may force seafood prices higher; the limits were removed from the November agenda but are expected to resurface next year, industry sources report. FOX Wilmington

- ➤ Due to new UNC System equality rules, UNCW shifted funds from student centers dedicated to specific groups to serve all students; as a result, centers like Centro Hispano+Upperman African American Cultural Center now face steep cuts that limit their programming. WHQR
- ➤ On Wednesday at Alderman Elementary, a physical altercation between an educator and a student left a child with injuries (counselors were available as officials continue investigating the incident). WHQR

- ➤ The town of Carolina Beach announced that Canal Drive between Cape Fear Boulevard and Harper Avenue will switch to one-way traffic due to increased pedestrian and vehicle activity. Construction begins on Dec. 8 and will finish by week’s end, with a review that may lead to a summer 2026 expansion. WECT
- ➤ A road closure for stormwater pipe replacement will begin on Monday, Dec. 8 on Jones Byrd Court (at Crooked Gulley Circle) in Sunset Beach, and drivers are advised to use alternate routes. FOX Wilmington
