- ➤ Eastern Carolina Veterinary Medical Center said its 32,000 sqft New Centre Drive building exploded in August after a driver hit gas lines and will be demolished by contractor SouthCon starting Dec. 9, with demolition expected to take 30 to 45 days as plans for rebuilding with improved safety measures proceed.
