- ➤ Retired nurse Doris Robinson volunteers at the Diaper Bank of North Carolina in Lower Cape Fear every Wednesday. With 40 years of nursing experience, she packs diapers to help local families manage daily expenses. WHQR
- ➤ Last Wednesday night, The Endowment held a winter listening session at CFCC where interim CEO Sophie Dagenais detailed a shift toward data-driven impact — announcing plans to convene local youth in January and presenting new strategies for transportation and workforce development with strong county ties. - ➤ Annie Elizabeth Shepard Hayes, Maple Hill's first centenarian, celebrated her 100th birthday on Sunday at Lee’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church — surrounded by her children and grandchildren. WWAY
- ➤ Purpose Church opened its doors as a warming shelter at 920 North 6th Street, welcoming single women, families, and people staying in their cars during a cold weekend and will offer warm meals and separate rooms until Tuesday morning.
