ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Regional gas prices are down for the second week and now average $2.72 per gallon, down from $2.79 last week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) covering Lower Atlantic states including NC. Prices stand about 6.2% below the national average, with a 12-cent decline since last month. Wilmington Star-News

- ➤ Natasha Grady was named December Teacher of the Month at Sunset Park Elementary, recognized for her leadership through music & love. - ➤ The Lumbee Tribe, with roots in Robeson County, is now fully federally recognized, allowing access to funds for health care, education and housing benefits. U.S. Rep. David Rouzer signed the act on Dec. 18 — ending nearly 140 years of struggle for the 575th tribe. FOX Wilmington
