- ➤ Downtown Wilmington will host the Southeast North Carolina Veterans Parade on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 11 a.m., starting at Third and Hanover streets and ending at Third and Market streets. A pre-parade show begins at 10 a.m. outside Thalian Hall—featuring marching bands, veteran organizations, and military vehicles along the route. Wilmington Star-News

- ➤ A comedy special filmed this summer in Wilmington will premiere on Netflix on Nov. 4—Cape Fear Community College’s Wilson Center hosted four sold-out shows for comedian Leanne Morgan, whose performance broke records at the center according to its executive director. Wilmington Star-News
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ In 2000, the Wilmington Planning Commission approved a rezoning proposal for a 395-acre farm—known as Hardy Parker or Oak Ridge Farm—to create a neotraditional community called Mayfaire. The plan led to Mayfaire Town Center, whose first phase opened in May 2004—marking a shift to mixed-use development with homes, offices and shops including a hotel. Wilmington Star-News
